The barrel shaft consists of a structural steel pipe of sufficient diameter and thickness to carry the load of the curtain. The shaft is the “heart” of any Roller Shutter door and allows the curtain to roll up neatly. The springs are wound torsion springs of high quality tempered wire of a particular diameter and length, depending on the door size, to provide a perfect counter balance system.
